Reducing Injuries

According to a report commissioned by the Australian Safety and Compensation Council, work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) make up almost half of all workers’ compensation claims.

This costs you money and lost productivity!

Underlying changes to soft tissues can result in health issues ranging from intermittent pain, to long-term physical impairment including:

  • pain, aching and discomfort
  • loss of sensitivity to heat or pressure
  • inflammation of tendons (tendonitis)
  • carpal tunnel syndrome
  • poor posture and balance
  • sciatica
  • osteoarthritis

Employees suffering WMSDs may take more sick leave, make more compensation claims and be far less productive than healthy employees. This can result in higher insurance premiums, recruitment and training costs for companies.

Organisations that invest in health and well-being strategies can reduce employee health risks by up to 56%.

With WMSDs comprising such a large portion of compensation claims, regular workplace STT sessions may provide a very healthy return on investment.
